Hello MBD newsletterers (is that a word?)

Well, the New Year heralds some glorious news. Paul’s second child, Griff, arrived in December and Esther’s first (name to be confirmed) is due in April. Dave, always behind in such matters, has no plans for a child but is contemplating maybe settling down when he hits 50.

There is also another new exciting arrival in metro world in the shape of Sally Rose Renner who is stepping into a part time administrative role. Sally is also a very talented visual artist, why not check out Sally's website?

You’d think with so much childrearing going on we may take it easy over the coming year… Of course not! We’re as busy as ever – check out with what, where and why below!

The Hansel and Gretel Audio Trail available this summer.

After a very successful run last summer Hansel And Gretel is available for booking again this summer. If you are interested in booking this show why not just click on the link.

"Metro-boulot-dodo's Hansel and Gretel takes you away from the crowds and into secret places as you don headphones and go on a physical and audio journey into the heart of the fairytale, as the cast of characters tell you their side of the story. It's an ingenious idea.”

Lyn Gardner, The Guardian

Hansel & Gretel was commissioned by Fermynwoods Contemporary Art

“Whispers from a Rickshaw” development and booking.

Our multi-media rickshaw project is nearing completion and almost booked up for the coming summer.

“Play a game of choice and chance to create an experience unique to you as you take a ride in the “Whispers” rickshaw. As you spin through the city streets don the headphones and immerse yourself in a world where secret pockets hide intriguing objects that contemplate the nature of journeys and destiny. Classical Chinese music, low-fi electronica, new technology and story telling all intermingle to create a philosophical ride. Metro-boulot-dodo are one of the UK's leading arts organisations and “Whispers From a Rickshaw” is an intimate experience that asks the essential question: Where are you going? “

We are excited to be collaborating with musicians Steve Gibbs and Ling Peng, and visual artists Tasha Xhei Li Whittle and Steve Bridgeman.

If you’re interested in booking “Whispers from a Rickshaw ” contact us soon before all our summer dates are gone!

Dave does a David (Brent)

Editing is underway on the education film project ‘The Workshop” which was devised and improvised over a week at Sir Jonathan North Community College as part of their INCA programme.

A comedy mockumentary, “The Workshop” follows the rampaging ego that is metro’s “Dave” as he tries to create work about bullying with the students, all the while remaining oblivious to the actual bullying that occurs right under his nose.

“The Workshop” takes a fresh, unflinching view on an often-discussed topic and punctures some of the clichés that surround it.

Originally planned as a ten-minute piece, the “The Workshop” has blossomed into a twenty-five minute feature and plans are being made for a public viewing. Keep an eye on MBDTV, as it will be appearing soon!

Good, Excellent, Yeah!
