Now on with the news....

METRO-BOULOT-DODO has finally come to the end of a hectic summer of premieres and international touring.

In the past 3 months the company have created and premiered 3 brand new shows, gone on a tour around the Black Sea, undertaken a 5 week residency in Utrecht, Holland, become a core funded client of Arts Council England and even squeezed in an artistic exchange in China. Below are some images and descriptions of our new projects. All shows will be available in 2009. You can catch WINTER at Stockton International Riverside Festival from July 31st - 3rd August and NIGHTSCENE will be in Istanbul from 15th - 18th October.

Communication Breakdown premiered May 22nd in Utrecht Holland.

METRO-BOULOT-DODO spent 5 weeks as a resident company at Festival a/d Werf developing Communication Breakdown. This project takes the audience on a site specific journey around a city following the relationship of international lovers Sam and Sam. On the way the audience encounter homesick shop windows, a sexually charged tourist guide, an art house film trailer with explicitly honest subtitles and waiters that say one thing but mean another. Communication Breakdown was commissioned by Festival a/d Werf with financial help from Getting On The Map. Communication Breakdown will be made site specific for each new city.

Communication Breakdown was originally commissioned as a pilot project by Stockton International Riverside Festival 2007.

Night Scene

Night Scene premiered May 29th in Odessa, Ukraine.

METRO-BOULOT-DODO then flew over to the Ukraine to put the final touches to their next project. In Night Scene a film is being shot. As the audience enter a director and camera crew greet them. Quickly the audience realise that they are required to be the film extras. The lead actors (an idealistic traveller and a local magician) meet, drink, flirt and dance. In just 90 minutes a film is shot, edited and premiered. Sexy, interactive, dangerous and different: Night Scene investigates what happens when people really go with the flow. Night Scene was commissioned by Intercult ACE and East Lindsey District Council. After its premiere in Odessa, Night Scene was performed in Romania and Bulgaria.

Look out for the films, which should be loaded up on you tube shortly......
